Volunteer Spotlight | Meet Dr. Rita Hanson 

I met Dr Wolf, and eventually Cherlie, when we worked together at St Joseph's Hospital. Through them I learned of the immense health challenges facing the people in Jeremie and their vision of building a clinic. I was part of the original Board when FHH was established and along with my husband I have remained involved in the fund raising work because of the tremendous success that has happened over the past 20 years. Not only was the clinic complex built and staffed but an entire sustainable community now exists in Jeremie with spiritual support, leadership development, nutrition and sanitation elements, with a solid infrastructure and an enthusiastic group of committed core supporters in the US. All accomplished in the midst of earthquakes, hurricanes, and horrifying political unrest!
