OUR PROMOTERS ARE BUSY!
The new Community Promoters we trained last summer, as well as our previous promoters, have been very busy this year doing community education regarding water, sanitation and hygiene. Our four Community Development staff members have attended many of these teaching sessions, evaluating the promoters on their presentations, offering feedback and advice and responding to any questions that might come from the audience.
The sessions have been held in churches and schools, at community meetings and individually in people’s homes. When held in larger settings, it’s been very helpful for the promoters to borrow large posters that we have depicting various hygiene topics. They have illustrations that help the audience understand what’s being discussed and are in Creole for those who read.
The posters were given to us years ago by another organization and have been invaluable to us. We’d like to make more large, laminated posters like these, so more promoters can use them. Donations to our Water and Sanitation Program help us provide materials like this to our community promoters for teaching in their communities. We appreciate our donors very much!
