We are happy to report that Hurricane Irma passed north of Haiti yesterday and did not have a significant impact on us here in the Jérémie area. We had quite a bit of rain during the night Thursday but no significant winds. Our understanding is that there were high winds and heavy rains in Cap Haitien and other areas in the north of Haiti. The extent of damage is not known to us at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who live in the islands that are next in the path of Irma, as well as Florida, where the destruction could be extensive. Thank you, as always, for praying for us.
