TRAINING NEW VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY PROMOTERS
We are very glad to announce that both of the medical students we are putting through medical school in Port-au-Prince are nearly finished with their training! After 5 years of education, they are both now in their year of internship, after which they will work for a year doing government service. Then, they will both be joining the staff of Centre de Sante de Gatineau, our outpatient clinic in Gatineau.
We had a recent visit from Jameson Delice, who started out his career with us as a volunteer community promoter, growing up in a community not far from our clinic. It’s been three years since we’ve seen him due to travel difficulties getting back and forth from Port-au-Prince. Most of his clinical experiences recently have been in the government hospital in Jacmel, a town in the southeast corner of Haiti.
Guy-Johns Chevalier has been assigned to work recently in the government hospital in Les Cayes, which is only 2 hours from Jérémie, so he’s come back to his home in Gatineau quite often.
WE CHANGE LIVES
Our mission is to improve the health of the people of Haiti in a caring, compassionate manner, as a reflection of our Christian faith.
