Summer 2025

EXPANDING HYGIENE AND SANITATION EDUCATION

The volunteer Community Promoters who work in our Water and Sanitation Program have expanded the areas in which they provide community education to include 8 new communities adjacent to their own. This has provided a new spark of enthusiasm and motivation to the promoters and has given the communities an opportunity to learn more about keeping healthy.

One of the communities where we began educational activities does not have a church or school in the community. So, they had no building in which to meet for educational sessions. They volunteered to put up an open-air pavilion if we supplied tin for the roof. So, now the community will have a place to meet for all community activities, not just ours.

The construction is not quite finished but we’re already hearing many words of gratitude from the community members for this wonderful, practical improvement to their water-gathering efforts!
