We are happy to report that Hurricane Irma passed north of Haiti yesterday and did not have a significant impact on us here in the Jérémie area. We had quite a bit of rain during the night Thursday but no significant winds. Our understanding is that there were high winds and heavy rains in Cap Haitien and other areas in the north of Haiti. The extent of damage is not known to us at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who live in the islands that are next in the path of Irma, as well as Florida, where the destruction could be extensive. Thank you, as always, for praying for us.

Hurricane Irma - Prayer Request

Hurricane Irma, a category 5 hurricane is currently headed towards Haiti and the Dominican Republic and is expected to pass over the northern portions of Haiti. The last major hurricane, Hurricane Matthew, devastated south western Haiti just last October, leaving hundreds of Haitians dead and tens of thousands homeless. We are asking all our friends and supporters to pray for the people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic as they prepare for the storm. We are in communication with our Executive Director, Dr. Wolf and will provide periodic updates as information becomes available.
